Eight of Disks ~ Security

I know what is mine
I
guard and I keep it

The Eight of Disks shows four walls and four sentinel columns, enclosing a field of green in a landscape of brown. Without the walls, the green life that exists inside could drain out and disappear into the surrounding sands.
The walls can represent your home, not in the sense of personal belongingness as in the Four, but in its position relative to its surroundings, and your financial stability. The walls can also represent the boundaries and protection you need. The Eight of Disks says: Identify those things that poke holes in your walls, whether they come from the outside or from you on the inside. Don't let your life force spill and bleed and sink without a trace, into the endless sand of the worry in the world.
But walls have two sides, and walls can shut in and isolate. For a nomad, security does not exist in thickness of walls, but in vastness of space - having clear sight all around you, with nothing unusual or menacing as far as the eye can see. What's important is how you define security. It's time to have a hard look at what needs shoring up or tearing down in your practical and business matters.
